The City of Castle Pines is seeking Requests for Proposals for the Municipal Judge.
The City of Castle Pines Municipal Court was established under the authority of the City of Castle Pines Home Rule Charter. It is a court of record that hears alleged violations of the City of Castle Pines Municipal Code and Charter. The current case load is primarily traffic cases.
The Municipal Court convenes on the second Friday of each month at 7:30 a.m. Arraignment sessions typically last up to two hours, followed by bench trials as necessary. The Presiding Municipal Judge is authorized to establish rules and regulations regarding the conduct of the business of the Municipal Court, make legal rulings, and ensure that court proceedings are conducted fairly and according to constitutional and legal requirements. The expected monthly time commitment for this role is approximately 3-5 hours.

Municipal Judge, City of Lone Tree, Colorado.
The City of Lone Tree is seeking Requests for Proposals for the Municipal Judge.
The Lone Tree Municipal Court adjudicates violations of the City’s municipal ordinances. The court is generally in session on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Thursday of each month with the 4th Thursday reserved for jury trials on an as needed basis. The court holds bench trials and hearings on the second Friday of each month. Court staff may consult the Municipal Judge during standard business hours regarding non-routine court issues.

Municipal Judge, Town of Erie, Colorado.
The Town of Erie is seeking Requests for Proposals for the Municipal Judge.
The Town of Erie Municipal Court’s creation and powers are established in the Erie Home Rule Charter, Article 9. Pursuant to Article 8.03 of the Erie Home Rule Charter, the Municipal Judge must be an attorney licensed to practice law in good standing in the State of Colorado who is appointed to and may be removed from the position by a majority vote of the Town Councilmembers then in office.
The Municipal Judge shall be responsible to the Town Council; shall formally report to Town Council at least once annually, and more often upon Town Council’s request; and shall perform such duties as provided by ordinance.

Municipal Judge, City of Northglenn, Colorado.
The City of Northglenn is seeking Requests for Proposals for the Municipal Judge.
The City of Northglenn Municipal Court was created pursuant to the City of Northglenn Home Rule Charter and hears alleged violations of the City of Northglenn Municipal Code. The Municipal Judge presides over the Court. The Municipal Court meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are four (4) full days for arraignments and hearings, and one (1) additional day for trials. The expected time commitment of the Judge is 20-25 hours per week. The Judge is on-call to review arrest affidavits.
The deadline for submitting letters of interest and resumes is 4:30 p.m. January 3, 2025. City Council will review submittals and conduct interviews at a time and date to be decided. A successful candidate will be appointed with the expectation of an initial appointment through December 2026, and shall be subject to reappointment for full two (2) year appointments thereafter upon satisfactory annual review.

Associate Judge, City of Thornton, Colorado.
The City of Thornton is seeking Associate Judge(s).
You would join a team of approximately 14 associate judges who are called upon when coverage is needed due to the Presiding Judge being unavailable or the size of the docket requires the operation of two courtrooms and the Associate Judge handles the docket in the secondary courtroom. The associate judge presides over all stages of a case from arraignment, motions, to trial to the court or jury trial. Each associate judge receives a handbook of the policies, procedures, and sentencing guidelines. The associate judge is also trained by the Presiding Judge to ensure there are not disparities among the judges.
Provide judicial coverage when the Presiding Judge is on vacation or otherwise unavailable, or when the docket size requires an additional judge to hear the cases. Provide judicial functions for the Municipal Court, a home rule court of record, through adjudication of traffic, criminal, parking and other municipal code violations. Conduct hearings on motions, trials to the court, jury trials and other requisite judicial duties when the Presiding Judge is unavailable or in instances of judicial disqualification. Provide coverage on a temporary and as needed basis.
