Presiding Municipal Judge and Alternate Judges, Town of Severance, Colorado.
The Town of Severance is seeking proposals to fill the role of Presiding Municipal Judge for two years commencing with the approval by Resolution of the appointment and terms of appointment by Town Council.
The Town of Severance is a Home Rule municipality that operates a municipal court of record that hears and determines cases arising under the Town’s Charter and ordinances. The Municipal Judge must be a currently licensed Colorado attorney, preferably with experience on the bench in a Colorado municipal court of record, knowledge of the Severance Home Rule Charter, and the Severance Municipal Code.
Court is held on the first Thursday of each month with other dates scheduled as needed. Sessions last as long as needed to complete the scheduled Court docket, but are generally no longer than 2-4 hours each. Court security is provided while the Court is in session.

Position Overview:
The Town of Vail Municipal Court hears alleged violations of the Town of Vail Municipal Code. The Municipal Judge presides over the Court and is appointed by the Town Council for a term of two (2) years. The Judge may be reappointed at the Town Council’s discretion.
- The Municipal Court convenes twice per month for arraignments and hearings (first and third Thursdays of each month; with Juvenile and Animal control sessions on the first and third Fridays).

The City of Castle Pines is seeking Requests for Proposals for the Municipal Judge.
The City of Castle Pines Municipal Court was established under the authority of the City of Castle Pines Home Rule Charter. It is a court of record that hears alleged violations of the City of Castle Pines Municipal Code and Charter. The current case load is primarily traffic cases.
The Municipal Court convenes on the second Friday of each month at 7:30 a.m. Arraignment sessions typically last up to two hours, followed by bench trials as necessary. The Presiding Municipal Judge is authorized to establish rules and regulations regarding the conduct of the business of the Municipal Court, make legal rulings, and ensure that court proceedings are conducted fairly and according to constitutional and legal requirements. The Town of Erie Municipal Court’s creation and powers are established in the Erie Home Rule Charter, Article 9. The City of Northglenn is seeking Requests for Proposals for the Municipal Judge.
The City of Northglenn Municipal Court was created pursuant to the City of Northglenn Home Rule Charter and hears alleged violations of the City of Northglenn Municipal Code. The Municipal Judge presides over the Court. The Municipal Court meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are four (4) full days for arraignments and hearings, and one (1) additional day for trials. Associate Judge, City of Thornton, Colorado.
The City of Thornton is seeking Associate Judge(s).
You would join a team of approximately 14 associate judges who are called upon when coverage is needed due to the Presiding Judge being unavailable or the size of the docket requires the operation of two courtrooms and the Associate Judge handles the docket in the secondary courtroom. The associate judge presides over all stages of a case from arraignment, motions, to trial to the court or jury trial. Each associate judge receives a handbook of the policies, procedures, and sentencing guidelines. The associate judge is also trained by the Presiding Judge to ensure there are not disparities among the judges.
Provide judicial coverage when the Presiding Judge is on vacation or otherwise unavailable, or when the docket size requires an additional judge to hear the cases. Provide judicial functions for the Municipal Court, a home rule court of record, through adjudication of traffic, criminal, parking and other municipal code violations. Conduct hearings on motions, trials to the court, jury trials and other requisite judicial duties when the Presiding Judge is unavailable or in instances of judicial disqualification.
